For examples the studies found that the effects on the body for complex carbohydrates are different from foods like sugary cakes, white bread, and saturated fats.

The good carbohydrates are composed of non-processed carbs are foods that have an entire supply of carbohydrates including natural sugars –  as well as much more fiber. The bad carbohydrates consist of processed carbs like sugars, enriched flour and white bread and much less fiber. These foods usually have less vital nutrients in them as well due to being processed.

The most common good carbs come from whole grains, beans, legumes, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Eating more of these foods will not only improve your mood, but will also reduce your chances of acquiring a number of health problems, such as diabetes, heart problems, and high blood pressure.

Flaxseed oil is also a good source of omega-3s. It can be taken as a supplement or used in salad dressings. Unlike fish oils, which contain a different combination of omega-3s, flaxseed oil should not be cooked because heat can damage the omega-3s.
