Jumping Jacks are a great way to get your workout started. If your in optimal shape, start out with 50 jumping jacks to get warmed up. If just beginning an exercise routine, start out with 20. Also, if you have a staircase in your home, walk them often. You can stay active in your home by walking up and down the stairs as many times as you can throughout the day. One more for the home is yoga. Yoga is a great way to stay physically and spiritually fit. You can purchase DVD’s online, or even take a class with a private instructor.

Whole Family Fitness Exercises

Sledding can be a great way to incinerate a few extra calories. It’s also a good way to get the whole family out of the house and sweating. The thrill of gliding down the old sled hill may only last a few seconds, but climbing that hill is great for your heart and lungs. It’s very sad, but true. Shoveling and pushing snow are excellent upper body fitness exercises for burning belly fat. Make sure to warm up first. Keep in mind though, throwing snow to the side or over your shoulder is not recommended. It’s advised that you walk the snow to where you need to dump it.

It may sound silly, but getting the family together to build a snowman and throwing snowballs are  great ways to connect and burn some extra calories. Building as many snowmen as your family can will guarantee hours of fun and a total body workout at the end of the day. It’s great cardiovascular exercise because staying warm outside is much easier when you keep moving and working your body.
